A Day to Remember!
30 Years of Bringing Communities Together, Empowering Lives and Making a Difference
What a wonderful celebration!
Sunrise Multicultural Project proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of supporting individuals, strengthening families and bringing communities together in Banbury.
To celebrate this incredible milestone, we hosted a special community event at Calder Close, Banbury, bringing together around 150 guests, including staff, volunteers, trustees, community members, supporters, partner organisations and friends of Sunrise, past and present.
It was a truly memorable day, filled with joy, laughter, friendship and a wonderful sense of community spirit.

A Celebration Filled with Joy and Togetherness

Our anniversary celebration reflected everything that makes Sunrise so special, diversity, inclusion, kindness and community.
There was something for everyone to enjoy, including a children’s magic show, face painting, beautiful henna designs, a raffle with lovely prizes and of course, plenty of delicious food!
The wonderful selection of food, generously donated by supporters and lovingly prepared by members of our Sunrise community, brought everyone together.
Throughout the day, guests shared stories, reconnected with old friends and celebrated the friendships and memories created through Sunrise over the years.
Reflecting on 30 Years of Making a Difference
Since its beginnings 30 years ago, Sunrise has grown from a small community initiative into a trusted local charity, supporting people from diverse backgrounds across Banbury.
Over the years, our services have developed to meet the changing needs of our community, including:
- Women’s and men’s drop-in sessions
- English language (ESOL) classes
- Children’s Saturday clubs and youth activities
- Over 50s’ monthly breakfast club
- Advice, guidance and practical support
- Domestic abuse support
- Activities promoting wellbeing, confidence and social inclusion
At the heart of Sunrise has always been a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves to feel welcomed, valued, supported and connected.
The celebration gave us an opportunity to reflect on our journey, recognise our achievements and remember the many people who have helped make Sunrise what it is today.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Sunrise Community
Our 30th anniversary was more than just a celebration of the past. It was a tribute to the people who have shaped our journey.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated staff, volunteers, trustees, funders, partner organisations and everyone who has supported Sunrise throughout the years.
A special thank you to everyone who attended, contributed food, donated raffle prizes, helped organise activities or volunteered their time to make the celebration such a success.
Your kindness, generosity and continued support mean so much to us.
This milestone belongs to every person who has been part of the Sunrise family.
Here’s to the Next 30 Years!
As we look towards the future, we remain committed to building stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together over the past three decades and we look forward to continuing our work, creating new opportunities and making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to 30 wonderful years of Sunrise and many more to come!
