A Safe Haven for Healing, Connection & Empowerment
At Sunrise Multicultural Project, we believe every woman deserves to feel supported, seen, and valued – regardless of her background, her challenges, or her circumstances. Our Wellness for Women Thursday Ladies Drop in is a compassionate, culturally sensitive space that supports women’s wellbeing -physically, emotionally and mentally.
This project was born from listening to the women in our community. Many of them – especially those from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds – shared feelings of isolation, anxiety, and disconnection. New mums, single parents, recent migrants, and women with limited family or social support often face deep loneliness and lack access to the kind of safe, welcoming spaces that truly meet their needs.
Our drop-in sessions offer these women something vital: a space to breathe, to reflect, to feel connected, and to begin to heal. A place where no one is judged, where every woman is met with warmth and compassion. We aim to build confidence, reduce social isolation, and provide the tools and support needed to help women prioritise their wellbeing.
Why This Matters
We’ve seen the toll that loneliness and cultural isolation can take – especially on women trying to balance family, motherhood, trauma, or the stress of starting over in a new country. Many face language barriers, mental health struggles, or fear accessing mainstream services. Without support, these challenges can deepen, leading to long-term mental health issues, breakdowns in family relationships, and increased social withdrawal.
Through our Wellness for Women sessions, we provide a consistent, nurturing space where women can explore self-care, rebuild confidence, and form lasting friendships. We offer a weekly rhythm of connection – something to look forward to, a reason to leave the house, and a space that promotes healing and joy.

How We’ll Use Your Donations for Ladies Wellness Group.
To continue and expand this vital work, we need your help. Every donation helps us provide this space free of charge to the women who need it most. Your generosity will directly support:
- Rent and Venue Hire
We need a consistent, accessible space to run these sessions – one where women feel safe and welcomed. Donations will help us cover the cost of renting a warm, friendly environment where our drop-ins can take place regularly and without disruption. - Qualified Wellness Instructors
We work with professionals who lead calming and empowering sessions – yoga teachers, wellness coaches, mental health specialists, and group facilitators. Your support allows us to fairly pay these women, many of whom reflect the communities we serve and understand the cultural needs of our participants. - On-Site Crèche Facilities
Childcare can be a barrier for many women wanting to attend. Our goal is to provide a trusted, nearby crèche service so mums can participate in sessions without worry. A calm mind is easier to achieve when you know your child is in safe hands. - Session Resources and Equipment
From yoga mats and art supplies to healthy refreshments and wellbeing packs, these small but important items make a huge difference in how supported and comfortable our attendees feel. We also aim to provide wellness kits for women to use at home to continue their self-care between sessions. - Transport and Accessibility Support
We don’t want anyone to be excluded due to cost or lack of transportation. Part of the funds will be used to help cover bus fares, arrange car shares, or offer transport options for women with mobility challenges or those living further away. - Outreach and Community Engagement
We want to make sure the most isolated women know this space is available to them. We’ll use part of the funds to reach out – through community organisations, GPs, support workers, and cultural groups – to ensure we connect with those who need us most.
The Impact of Your Support
We have already seen the transformative impact of these sessions. Women arrive quiet, unsure, sometimes on the edge of tears. Over time, they begin to open up. They start sharing. They smile more. They tell us they feel lighter. They leave with hope. For many, this is the only space they have that’s “just for them.”
- A new mum struggling with postnatal depression finds strength in community and guided relaxation.
- A migrant woman who hasn’t spoken to anyone outside her home all week finds a place to belong.
- A survivor of trauma learns breathing techniques to manage anxiety and reclaims her body through gentle yoga.
- Friendships are built. Trust is restored. Isolation begins to fade.
These are not small things. These are life-changing moments.
Help Us Build a More Connected, Healthier Community
Your donation – no matter the amount – can help change a woman’s life. It can fund a moment of peace, a burst of joy, a new friendship, a healing breath. When women feel well and supported, they are better equipped to care for their families, raise confident children, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
We’re asking for your support to help us keep this essential programme running – and to grow it, so we can welcome even more women into this circle of care and connection.
Together, let’s create a community where no woman feels alone.
Together, let’s hold space for healing, for growth and for hope.
Thank you for believing in this vision.
Your Impact
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us to keep the doors open and the sessions running. Your support means:
- A mum struggling with postnatal depression can attend a calming yoga session while her baby is cared for nearby.
- A woman who’s just arrived in the UK can begin to feel part of her community.
- A survivor of trauma can take part in a wellness workshop that helps her feel whole again.
- Friendships are built, stories are shared, and hope is restored.
When women are well, communities thrive. Healthier, more connected women lead to stronger families, more resilient children, and more united neighbourhoods. Your generosity is not just a donation – it’s an investment in wellbeing, equality, and long-term social change.
