Sunrise Multicultural Project

News update: 01.09.2023

The National Lottery Community Fund distributes over £600m a year to communities across the UK, raised by players of The National Lottery. Sunrise Multicultural Project is delighted to announce that we have received funding for our project for the next 5 years!

The funds we have received will be used to support the various weekly community groups we provide.

We’d like to thank The National Lottery for this recent funding and look forward to continuing our work within the community.

Aims And Purposes

The aim with all our groups is to provide an opportunity for ethnic minority, single parent, low income families to socialise, make friends and take part in activities within the groups and Banbury community.

Sunrise Multicultural supports ethnic minority families in Banbury who are mainly of Pakistani descent. We serve single parent families, families on low income and from various wards in Banbury. Children from English families are part of the multi-cultural mix.

We aim to increase cultural awareness and integration within the community through our workshops and projects, develop parents’ English language skills and as a result increase confidence in their parenting and social skills.

Sunrise Multicultural Project wants to address cultural issues affecting families’ parenting abilities and their inclusion and integration into the wider community in Banbury, building links with schools in particular.
