Expertise: Advanced Holistic Mental Health Practitioner, Accredited EFT Matrix Reimprinting Trainer, Life & Business Coach, Energy Psychology Practitioner, International Bestselling Co-author, Motivational Speaker, Community Volunteer and Charity Trustee.
Background: As well as serving as a Trustee for Sunrise Multicultural Project, I am also a Board Member for OVADA. My background in Human Resources, governance, organisational development and community engagement enables me to support charities through periods of growth and positive change.
Passion: I believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to feel valued, supported and empowered, and I am proud to contribute to Sunrise’s mission of creating stronger, healthier and more inclusive communities.
About Shamim Rehman:
I am passionate about helping people overcome adversity, build resilience and reach their full potential. My professional background spans holistic mental health, coaching, trauma recovery, leadership, community development and organisational improvement. Alongside my private practice, I have spent many years supporting individuals and communities through voluntary work, public speaking and charity leadership.
Why I Joined Sunrise:
I became a Trustee because I wanted to use my professional experience to make a meaningful difference to both the organisation and the communities it serves. Sunrise provides life-changing support to people from diverse backgrounds and I am passionate about helping the charity continue to grow while supporting the dedicated staff who deliver these vital services every day.
What do you enjoy most about being involved with Sunrise?
The people. I have been inspired by the passion, kindness and dedication shown by both the staff and volunteers. Seeing the positive difference Sunrise makes to individuals and families across our community is incredibly rewarding and I value being part of an organisation that genuinely changes lives.
What is one thing you hope Sunrise achieves in the future?
I hope Sunrise continues to grow into one of the region’s leading community organisations, recognised for excellence, innovation and compassion, while remaining true to its values of inclusion, empowerment and supporting those who need it most.

Nelson Mandela. His compassion, humility, resilience and ability to unite people despite unimaginable adversity continue to inspire me.
One interesting fact people may not know about you
I was selected to deliver the graduation speech at Oxford Brookes University in front of more than 500 graduates, academics and guests – an experience I’ll always treasure.
What motivates or inspires you?
Helping people discover strengths they never knew they had. Watching someone move from surviving to thriving is one of the greatest privileges of my work.
